Vala looking forward to Namibia Series

first_imgVala will lead the 14-man Barramundis squad against Namibia for the first time in an ICC Sanctioned series after Jack Vare was unavailable due to a serious knee injury.The Barras will play Namibia in a four-day Intercontinental Cup (ICUP) encounter and then onto the World Cricket League Championships (WCLC) matches.“It’s a proud moment for me being appointed to lead the boys in the series against Namibia. It’s an honour and privilege to be appointed as the captain but I have to do the best job I can,” said Vala.The Barramundis squad arrived from Australia this week after competing in the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Premier League.Vala said he was happy with the preparations for the upcoming series.  “Our preparation has been really good. We have been away for nearly six weeks in total in the SACA Premier League and also some practice matches against Australian State Teams in Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania. There are no excuses for us heading into this series against Namibia.“Since coming back from the SACA Premier League on Monday, we have had full sessions, fine tuning our skills before the series beginning this morning,” said Vala.last_img
